Adams Heritage Centre. Littleport

Foundation model constitution.




Objects:


1. To be a not-for-profit organisation which will exist to encourage, promote and widen education and interest in Fenland history, heritage, arts and culture with particular reference to JH Adams & Sons Ironmongers as was, Littleport and surrounding areas.


2. To foster pride in, and awareness of fenland culture, history and traditions.


3. To provide a venue for exhibitions, workshop activities, information, archive materials and related materials to be a learning resource for the community and other regional organisations.


4. To preserve, catalogue and store an archive (such as photographs, written materials, oral histories and ephemera) of materials relating to the history and heritage of JH Adams Ironmongers and Littleport, which shall be a learning resource for the community. These materials to be stored and held in trust for the benefit of the community.


5. To provide a platform for local residents, visitors, and general public to exchange information and learn together.


6. To strengthen community cohesion across demographic divides, by fostering pride in, and awareness, of local shared history and heritage.


7. To form associations with other similar groups and organisations either locally, regionally or nationally.


8. To collect, verify, publish and provide access to information relating to the history and heritage of Littleport and the surrounding region.


9. To promote and advance social inclusion through a range of educational activities and opportunities to local residents on matters relating to Fenland shared history and heritage.


10. To legislate, to make by-laws and do other acts, matters and things, as may be necessary or expedient to promote all or any of the objects of Adams Heritage Centre.
